My canoes name is Squishy. I named my canoe Squishy because thats what my friends call me. Squishy started in the Red River in East Grand Forks Minnesota. He floated for about half an hour and he thought it was very relaxing. Then he felt something hard rub under him. OUCH There were three large catfish biting him Squishys paint was chipping off as the large catfish kept biting. How am I going to get away Squishy thought. Suddenly an Eagle came flying out of a tall evergreen tree. When the catfish saw the huge bird they swam away frightened. Squishy was very relieved that the catfish were gone. Squishy floated on what seemed like a never ending river for a few hours. Out of nowhere a mysterious shape appeared on the river. Squishy couldnt quite get close enough to identify what it was. All of a sudden a huge storm appeared. The mysterious figure got closer and closer until Squishy could see what it was. It was another canoe Squishy saw what it said on the side of the canoe. It said Spongebob. Squishy suddenly remembered that he had been dropped in the Red River with Spongebob. They floated along the river banks talking about their long journey when all of a sudden a huge wave came crashing down The wave tipped Squishy upside down and he could no longer see Spongebob. Squishy floated upside down for a long time. Then a seagull came swooping down very quickly and picked Squishy up off the water. Squishy enjoyed the view from way up in the sky. It gave him a long time to think about his journey. He had been on the river for about three to four weeks. After flying for about thirty minutes the seagull dropped Squishy in a large body of water. It seemed way too big to be a river. Squishy floated slowly along the shore of the body of water. As he was floating he saw a green sign along the shore. It said Lake Winnipeg. Squishy couldnt believe it He had made it all the way to Lake Winnipeg He floated for a long time that night. When morning came Squishy was still in Lake Winnipeg It was the same thing with the next day and the next day and the next day. To Squishy it felt like he was going in circles around the huge lake. That was because he was. The next day Squishy floated past a dock. He saw a tall man fishing with his daughter. As Squishy swam past them the hook from the little girls fishing pole caught him on the side. The next thing Squishy knew he was being reeled in. Daddy can we see where this little canoe wants to go said the little girl. But the canoe cant talk her dad replied. The girl saw the QR code on the top of Squishy. Dad its the year 2026 Now we have this thing called technology You just have to scan the QR code the girl said. Ha ha Very funny the dad said. Ill check to see where he wants to go. The dad scanned the QR code on his phone. I think he wants to go to the Atlantic Ocean he said. Thats right Squishy thought. Lets get in the new boat and drop him in the Nelson River the dad suggested. They got in the boat and dropped Squishy in the Nelson River. Before they did that they gave Squishy some fresh new paint. Squishy floated down the Nelson River with no problems. Or at least he thought he would. A Golden Retriever swimming in the river picked him up and swam to a new body of water. Squishy knew where he was right away. It was the Hudson Bay Will I make it Squishy thought.
