I named my canoe Memories. I named my canoe Memories because at my uncles funeral. Memories was one of the first songs that we heard. His ashes were buried at my grandparents lake cabin. We dug a hole and put his ashes in the ground. Then we planted a little tree with the ashes. Now whenever our families go to the lake we pray at the tree well at least I do. Thats why I named my canoe Memories. Memories starts off at the Red River in East Grand Forks Minnesota. My whole class goes to the Red River to drop our canoes. Splash splash and splash there they all go into the Red River. At first the ride went very slow but Memories got pushed up from a big wave and landed on a rock for three long years. Then a very sweet old lady named Ruth saw Memories when planting and watering her flowers in her front yard. Ruth went over and released Memories back into the Red River about ten feet ahead. Memories went on for a month being lazy. A wolf was trying to get some fish from the Red River but a wolf caught Memories and thought Memories was food. So the baby wolf tried to eat Memories and broke some baby teeth. The mother wolf realised that its not food. She put it back in the water. Memories watched the mother wolf chase after and catch a squirrel. Memories was being lazy for ten weeks. Then Memories got flipped over by a wave and a Koi Fish swam over thinking it was food. Then Memories was on its side and flipped over so now theres a fish on top of. Next they hit a waterfall along with lots and lots of big rocks and before they knew it they were going down the rocky waterfall and splash. They went under the water for probably ten seconds and thats all it took for the fish to go away. What the fish didnt realize is that it swam right into a very mean sharks mouth. The shark also grabbed the edge of Memories. Now they were both stuck in the mean shark's mouth until the mean shark almost spit out Memories. Memories got stuck in the shark's teeth and the sharks teeth and the tongue just felt Memories. Then the shark just lets Memories go on her way. Nothing really exciting happened for the two years but after the two years Memories got stuck at a dam where there was a house in the forest. While Memories was there in the freezing cold water Joe the family's dog was drinking the water. Joe jumped in the freezing cold water and picked Memories up. The dad said What do you have there Joe Then the son said Dad the canoe is from the River of Dreams. Lets look the canoe up said the dad. But the mom said its winter and about to snow while holding their baby girl Hazle. Their other daughter Linnda said So can we keep Memories for the winter All the family agreed to the great idea. So Linnda went and found a stand and every day they made sure the dog didnt eat Memories or that Memories didnt get stolen by the wind or by a person. Sometimes the kids hide Memories from their parents. Once it took almost an hour to find Memories in the fridge. It felt like an icicle. After that they hid Memories easier when also moving it every week until their parents caught on. So then they moved it to every two weeks and their parents never caught on. They displayed Memories right on top of the fireplace and under television on an art easel. Many months later the mom asked Is everybody ready to go All of the kids except Halze yelled Yeah three two one After a while Memories endsends up in Hudson Bay with no more problems.
