My canoes name is Sunny. I named her that because on her journey to Hudson Bay it will be very sunny and bright. She started in the Red River of East Grand Forks Minnesota. Sunny started her journey in late spring. The snow just melted so Sunny went very fast during the beginning. Then she stopped and floated for a while. Then suddenly a huge eagle picked her up. The eagle tried to feed Sunny to her eaglets but Sunny was too hard to eat. Even though the eaglets were starving they knew they couldnt eat her. Sunny was two times their size Then the eaglets just threw her out of their nest. Sunny saw wood falling and she herself was into a field of corn. Sunny stayed there for almost a year. Finally a girl with brown hair and blue eyes picked her up. She ran with Sunny to a brown wooden house. Sunny was pretty banged up so the girls dad fixed Sunny up and painted on a fresh layer of paint. The next day they put Sunny back in the river. Soon later Sunny was floating and she saw lots of fish. They were all sorts of colors like blue green red and orange. She thought they were beautiful but she also thought they were going to eat her. Sunny also saw a huge porcupine on the edge of the river. By now Sunny was in the Nelson River. She was getting closer and closer to Hudson Bay. Then something terrible happened. Sunny got stuck in a beaver dam. She was stuck there for almost a month. Then finally a beaver came and put her in its mouth. Next it put Sunny on the other side of the dam. She flowed super fast down the river and while she did she looked up at the sky. It was a sunny day with small white clouds. Finally she hit some rocks and crossed into Hudson Bay. Sunny had made it She looked to her right and to her left. On her right she saw lots of ice. On her left she saw an otter cracking open a clam. Sunny had a long two year journey and finally made it to the Hudson Bay
