Canoe #26RD0461

I remember the day like yesterday. It was May 2026 in Fertile Minnesota. I was launched in the Sandhill River. I saw many things that I will now tell you about. SPLASH I hit the cold water of May. Our journey had begun. Little red buds were just coming out as we zoomed along in the current. Woah Thats a big deer Look at the size of those stubs. Hes going to have some big antlers this fall. The birds are just coming back and singing their songs. As we zoomed along we heard something different. Perhaps a roar up ahead A waterfall If one of us hit a chunk of ice well I dont want to think about that. HERE WE GO SPLASH SPLOOSH BOOSH PLOOSH CRACK One of us was sadly lost.Away we go onward to the Atlantic and Canada oh hey We made it to Beltrami Is that a bear Scatter AHHH HELP IT GOT ME Bad boy We talked about this No eating trash Gimmie this. Its a canoe Off you go little man And you come with me said a booming voice.SPLASH Yippee Im free Off we go again. Onward to Climax. I dont know when well get there. Today we cant stop to sleep because there are storm clouds coming in. We think two days maybe less. When the clouds get here well tie to shore and stay until it passes through. I cant see anything. Turn on your lights. Ah thats better. Oh no Thats not good Theyre close. Stay calm every body Its only one mile to Climax and one mile for the storm to get here Move fast BOOM BAM Woah Were almost there Hold on hail. CRACK Ive been hit by hail To the bridge Phew That was close. Im listing a little from that storm. Onward to Grand Forks Time to go Woah This is fast Well be there in no time. Look A Viking long ship with giant oars and an impressive prow Its going right past us There it goes The leaves are green and out of their buds. Time to move guys At this pace well be there in no time and its smooth sailing. What Theres something behind me Oh poop Me and my big mouth Rapids and rocks. Perfect just perfect. I estimate three were lost here maybe more but hopefully less. WEE WOOPIE I was sadly right and three lost missing not dead. They will be missed. The rest of us have battle scars one listing hard left he may not make it. We are three miles out. Were not going to sleep. The currents are fast but we should get there. We see eyes on the bank. Someone is investigating. We hear screams. His lights went out minutes ago and the eyes left. Lights broke the night and I knew we were in Grand Forks.Leaving Grand Forks I was separated from the group. I was picked up by a man in a boat who looked at me saw my mission and drove his boat down the river to the border and set me free in Canada. Canada was full to the brim with maples beavers in the river kindly pointed in the direction of Hudson Bay and off I went. I noted the trees were red and the kind Canadians jolly good fellows gave me maple syrup which were great on pancakes. Crimson foxes bronze geese and turquoise fish turned and looked with great interest as I went past. They never attacked just looked. I went through some rapids until I had a fight for my life. A duck the most feared fighter in the south and all of Canada who fought polar bears and won Able to dodge bullets with ease but by some miracle I survived him. I didnt win. He just had better things to do. I pulled into Lake Winnipeg. I crossed the lake and went into Nelson River. I was getting close. The river was wide and deep but fast. I zoomed along alone. It was a long journey and it was getting close to the end. Finally I made it to Hudson Bay I almost hit a rock but I made it to the sea. Now I will follow my dream and go to Sweden
