My canoes name is Meep. I have a ton of hopes and dreams for my canoe once I launch it from the Red River in May of 2026. I hope it will someday reach Japan by way of Hudson Bay. When I launch Meep into the Red River from Fargo I hope it will enjoy the beautiful oak trees it floats by. I also hope it enjoys the quiet quick conversations it listens to that the mourning doves and crows have. I hope that it will float quietly down the river to Moorhead. It will fly by some shy foxes drinking from the river. Once it passes the foxes I hope it will go into Grand Forks and see some catfish and bass swimming surrounding Meep. Meep will float calmly away from the fish just to be surrounded by some koi. I hope that the koi will probably think that the canoe Meep is food and try to eat it biting at the sides. I hope that they will realize that its not food it will relax and let go of the side of the canoe. I hope that in 2 years it will come across a farm. I hope that wheat and corn will shine in the sun from the yard and squirrels will dash through the fields. I hope it will pass on to Walsh County and after another month it will hopefully float on to Marshall County where it will be picked up by a farmer. I hope they will bring Meep to another part of the river. AlsoI hope that while the farmer keeps carrying Meep they will pass by another farm with canola sugarbeets and squirrels. I hope that it will be dropped off at Winnipeg and the farmer will put Meep back in the river and it will float along to Lake Winnipeg. I hope that once it passes through Lake Winnipeg it will go to the Nelson River and see some wolves racing it along the river. I hope that the canoe Meep will win the race and that it will go along to the Hudson Bay and see some wood frogs hopping along the riverbanks and I hope that the canoe will flip over underwater and see some starfish relaxing on the bottom of the river. Then I hope that it will float North through the Bering Strait along to Japan passing through thunderstorms seeing a field of beautiful cherry trees and lots of beautiful landscapes and sunsets and surviving everything. I hope that after 5 or more years it will finally settle down on a riverbank in Japan.
