My canoes name is Light Fixture. I have many hopes and dreams for my canoe once I launch it. I hope it will someday reach the White House by way of Hudson Bay. When I launch Light Fixture into the Red River from Fargo in May 2026. I hope it will ride a ways with my friend's canoe Stovetop Warrior. I hope it will hit a northern pike with Stovetop Warrior. It will pass Clay County and Cass County and I hope it will pass a white tail deer being chased by a coyote after I launch it. I hope then it will pass a maple grove then a few miles north down the Red River a small mouth bass will jump up out of the water and land on my canoe. My canoe will hopefully sink below the waters surface and the Bass will slip off. When winter comes the river will freeze over and my canoe will get stuck on the bank of the river next to a forest with oak and pine trees. After five or six months the river will thaw and my canoe will continue on. I hope a robin will land on Light Fixture and ride on it for a little while. I hope it goes past East Grand Forks. Then I hope a flood will wash it up into a field where it will get stuck there for a few months. Then I hope it will pass a golden wheat field in the fall. Then it might see a blue jay on the border between the USA and Canada. When it passes the border I hope a pack of wolves will be running on the edge of the river. Then I hope a small mouth bass will try eating it but fail. I hope Light Fixture sees Winnipeg. It hopefully will have a smooth ride until it reaches Lake Winnipeg. Then winter will come and Light Fixture will be stuck in Lake Winnipeg all winter. When spring comes my canoe will ride along the edge of the lake until it enters Nelson River. It will hopefully see a sturgeon eating in the Nelson river as it glides along. Then it will enter Hudson Bay. A few seasons will pass as Light Fixture hopefully will make it out of hudson bay. I hope it will get stranded on a beach and someone will take it home. On the walk to their house a hawk will swoop down and pick up a long fish and fly away. Then will let it go. Then I hope a seagull will fly down and pick up my canoe and will fly it south a ways and drop it on the shore. Then another bird will pick up up and fly it south even more. Eventually I hope birds will bring me across all of Manitoba back into the USA. Then I hope after a few years of birds like bald eagles and hawks carrying it across the USA it will reach Virginia. Then someone will pick it up bring it to Washington DC and take it home. Then a stray golden retriever would steal it and leave it in front of the White House. Hopefully then a bird would pick it up and put it right on top of the white house. Then it will see the president leaving his limousine and walking inside.
