My canoes name is Thunderbolt. I have many hopes and dreams for my canoe once I launch it. I hope it will someday reach Alaska by way of Hudson Bay. When I launch Thunderbolt into the Red River from Fargo I hope it will enjoy a smooth meandering ride on a bright sunny warm day in May of 2026. Hopefully it can travel along the muddy wooded banks of the Red as it passes the Oak Grove football field and I hope when it gets released it sees a crow. Along the way I hope it sees a deer in a field of wheat. In a few months I think a sunfish will hit it as it passes a maple tree. Next I hope my canoe passes Grand Forks later that day I hope it sees a hawk fly over Polk county. Eventually I hope it will come across walleye as it passes Walsh county. In a month or two it will see a beaver as it passes the U.S.A into Canada. In a few days it will see a catfish and an oak tree. Then I want it to see a pigeon as it enters Winnipeg. Hopefully in a few weeks it goes into Lake Winnipeg. Then as it goes up the Nelson River and sees a Pike as it goes into the Hudson Bay. By the time I graduate from Oak Grove in 2032 I hope it makes it to Alaska in one piece.
