I hope that in the future my canoe Flounder eventually makes it to Lahinch beach in Ireland. But first right after he is launched in Fargo North Dakota in early May of 2026. I hope he passes a green wing teal duck splashing in the shallow waters of the river bank in Traill County and then he will see a few white tailed deer drinking from the river. After that I hope a large lake sturgeon will swim by and smack Flounder with its strong tail. Then a big fast northern pike will swim past. I hope he will enjoy a calm and bright ride after that little excitement. Next I hope a giant snapping turtle will swim next to him for a while creating small waves. After that I hope Flounder reaches a potato farm where a giant tractor rumbles past. By 2027 I hope flounder reaches Grand Forks and sees many blue jays flying by. Next I hope he sees a possum and her joeys walking across a log. After that I hope my canoe while floating in Pembina County will come across otters holding hands and drifting down the river as they sleep. Then just as he crosses the border Flounder will drift through Emerson. Next I hope hell be startled by a loud noise just to find a woodpecker gnawing away on a brightly colored chokecheer tree. After that I hope he will pass a bullfish going after bait as little boys cast their fishing rods and point and smile at Flounder saying his name. As Flounder passes through Winnipeg I hope he sees a little girl sitting under a willow tree at the edge of town. By 2029 I hope Flounder will be floating along the massive shores of Lake Winnipeg passing small towns like Bloodvein. As Flounder reaches the Nelson River I hope it will be a quick trip down the river to Hudson Bay where he sees a little orange starfish welcoming him. I hope flounder will reach the sea after going through Hudson Strait by 2033 a year after I graduate. I hope that after years of drifting the open sea flounder will eventually make it to Ireland where he will wash up on Lahinch beach where he will eventually be found by someone who will treasure him.
