This is Shifty the canoe and his journey to Hudson Bay. He is about to see a lot of great things. His journey begins in the South Branch Wild Rice river in Ulen MN. On his first day to Hudson Bay he saw four beavers and three ducks. A couple weeks later he saw two big black bears that were hungry. They were snatching fish out of the river. Thankfully Shifty didnt get grabbed. It is August now and Shifty is now at Lake Superior where a little girl picked him out of the water. She brought him to her dad. Her dad gave Shifty a lot of brand new equipment for Shiftys journey. Its been five months now from when Shifty started his journey.The little girl has now set him back in the river. After a couple weeks Shifty saw a big flock of Canadian geese. One came and floated right by him for ten minutes then it picked Shifty up in the sky and dropped him right back in the river. After that crazy ride in the air Shifty was approaching the Canadian border. This is the first winter for Shifty and it is going to be a cold one. It was a week before winter and a young little boy scooped Shifty up out of the cold water and brought him to his house. Shifty stayed there all winter and it is finally spring again and Shifty is now one year old.The little boy set Shifty in the river and Shifty is off again for a great adventure. Shifty was almost there but a big storm pushed all the way back to the Canadian border. That storm lasted eight months so that means it is almost winter again.Shifty was back to his journey to Hudson Bay but then a branch snapped and Shifty got caught between two branches. He didnt get out of it until next spring. So Shifty is back on his journey to Hudson Bay. He is now two years old and so close to making it to Hudson Bay.In a few days he will be in Hudson Bay. On the way to Hudson Bay Shifty saw lots of animals he saw deermoosebeaverand geese.Shiftys two year journey is finally done and he has made it to Hudson Bay.
