Your canoe made it to the Atlantic Ocean!! I was walking on the beach at low tide, and there it was! I used to be a Marine Science teacher at Wrightsville Beach Elementary School, so this was a very special find for me. I’m so happy that students like you are learning about watersheds, rivers, and oceans. This is an awesome project!!

Hello. We found your sweet canoe in the Atlantic Ocean in Wrightsville Beach NC The picture shows the famous Johnnie Mercer Pier behind us! We took it to the end of the pier and launched it so it can continue on its journey! We are from Long Island NY and hope we see her again at a beach along the coast of NY!! Great job on the craftsmanship of your canoe!! Thank you for bringing joy to our day!!

I initially found the canoe on the Red River of the North 8 miles downstream of Grand Forks. I will take it with me out to the Atlantic Ocean when I travel to Wilmington, NC this August.
