Dream My canoe’s name is the S.S.P.O. I hope it will reach Winnipeg in Canada. When I launch my canoe in Cass county I hope it has the best of time on its journey. When it starts it’s journey it is very smooth until it crosses paths with a catfish. It bumps it’s side with the canoe knocking it over. It spins in the water for a while. Soon the catfish gets bored of tampering with the canoe and decides to leave it alone. The canoe goes over a dirt hill and gets stuck. There is little hope for escape since every second more dirt gets washed over the canoe. It stays there for six days until it is buried two feet under the water, the canoe’s luck begins to change when a little boy and his mother come to explore the river. The little boy begins to dig in the dirt until he comes across the canoe. He shows it to the mother. The mother cannot determine what it says, but she lets the little boy keep it as a toy as long as he washes it when they get home. The boy plays with the boat in the water for a good 30 minutes. Finally the mom says it is time to go home. On their walk home a dog grabs the canoe from the boy and runs off with the toy. The boy runs after the toy. He eventually catches up with the dog and rips the toy back. The boy found his mother. His mother grounded him, ran away and took his canoe. The mother washes it and reads the message, then gives it to the boy's dad. The dad takes the canoe on his next fishing trip in Norman and sets it free. The canoe goes back onto its journey and hopes he doesn’t sink from the holes in his sides. As the canoe passes through the river it sees a lot of different animals including a walleye. That bumps against him making him very wobbly. He traveled for six days before he saw his next animal on his journey; it saw a carp. The carp thought it was a piece of bread and dragged him down to the bottom of the river where the canoe sees lot’s of fish. What he saw was more than fish. It also saw plastic. He wasn't able to get a long look at the river because it didn’t take the fish long to realize that the thing in his mouth was inedible. He then entered East Grand Forks. The canoe passed by a wheat field. Then the canoe was starting to look damaged. Luckily a man sees him in the river and pulls him out. He sticks the canoe into his pocket and brings him home. The man see’s the holes in the canoe and decides it needs a fresh start. He is a skilled craftsman and carves it a new body. It is a little smaller than the canoe would have liked but he couldn't complain. The man recreates the sharpie drawing on the new canoe and rewrites the numbers on a copper plate and installs it on the new canoe. A week later the canoe is ready and is set free. The canoe makes its way down the river getting closer every day to his destination as he leaves East Grand Forks and enters Grand forks. He traveled for many days and each day it seemed birds would land and take a break on the canoe. One day a blue jay began to build a nest on the canoe until it realized it was too unstable to have it’s home on that small piece of wood. One day a bald eagle snached him out of the lake realizing he was not a tasty fish. The eagle reluctantly dropped him and the canoe splashed into the water. The next day a golden eye came up next to him. That was the last interaction with a creature for ten days, his next interaction with an animal was when a cougar jumped on him. The cougar then realized that he was not a fish but it was too late. The cougar fell into the river. Suddenly, the current got extremely fast and the canoe sped down the river. He shot though Walsh and Pembina until he was launched into Winnipeg. His victory was short. There were strong winds launching him into the air and throwing him onto land. There he saw an aquarium where a sad killer whale was doing tricks for a crowd. It also saw a sturgeon in an aquarium with an eight year old staring at him. Somebody picked the canoe up, read his plack and threw the canoe back into the river as he passed oaks and maple trees. The canoe continued it’s journey elsewhere.
