Hi my name is Daisy I am a canoe I will be launched at Icelandic State Park in Cavalier,ND hoping to make it to Hudson Bay in Canada.
My journey starts at Icelandic I floated at Icelandic for a while then out of nowhere I hit a big current and started flowing really fast.After 2 days at Icelandic I got on the Tongue River.I had been on the Tongue River for about 30 minutes and I had met my first animal it was a beaver building it’s dam ahead of me.When I went past the beaver he thought I was a log so he put me on his dam.
After 2 weeks of sitting there 6 kayakers came by and made a huge wave that splashed me forward before I knew it I was going through Cavalier.Flowing through Cavalier was fun I saw some Cottonwood Trees ,a Green Ash Tree and a Wild Prairie Rose. I saw some little kids fishing, then they saw me, so they grabbed me.They kept me for 2 days then let me go.
For a while all I saw was cornfields and wheat fields.After 20 minutes I was on the Pembina River. When I was on the Pembina River a brook stickleback touched my bottom(It really hurt)!It was night when I went through Pembina So i didn't see many people.It was morning and I was on the Red River.I was so sad though I thought the water was going to be red but it was blue.
All I saw was farmers working on their fields.Then out of nowhere a bear grabbed me ,he must have thought I was a fish!I was about to scream but I didn't want to scare the bear ,so I stayed quiet.He also tried to eat me. I was terrified.He quickly spit me out.I landed in cattails,I sat there for 3 months.It was getting cold outside,it was almost Christmas.I saw some people taking pictures and they saw me. I was so HAPPY!
For the winter I stayed inside all warm and cozy.In the beginning of Spring when the snow was melting they put me back in the water.The water was cold when they put me in the river.The water was flowing fast so I thought I was going to make it to Lake Winnipeg fast.I was wrong though, an eagle picked me up!The eagle brought me to its nest and tried feeding me to its babies but the eagle figured out I wasn't a fish so he dropped me.I fell 30 feet until I hit the ground.I laid there for 2 months until a group of hikers picked me up.They put me in the water it was warm and I was just about to lake Winnipeg.
I was so happy I had made it to Lake Winnipeg all I needed to do was make it through Lake Winnipeg and through the Nelson River.I thought going through Lake Winnipeg was going to be easy but I spoke too soon. There were hundreds of boats,I think there was a fishing tournament.I thought I was going to get hit. Luckily,a fisherman saw me so he grabbed me.He was a very nice man,he brought me to the Nelson River and put me in the water.I was almost to Hudson Bay when I saw a walrus it was chubby and cute.I was lucky it didn't attack me.I Was almost to the Arctic Ocean.I had made it to the Arctic Ocean in less than 5 minutes.I was so happy!That's where my journey ended.
