Dream Stardust Canoe Journey A long, long long time ago, okay maybe not that long ago, anyway there was a canoe named Stardust, but we will just call him Star for short. So now to start the story, Star starts in Crookston, Minnesota, at the Red Lake River making his way north down the Red Lake River. The river flows north but also flows down, this is because of elevation. Now back where we left of: Star was put in the water under the bridge next to the Crookston Public Library. It was a very sunny day. Star was very warm so every now and then he would tip over to get a drink of water from the river. It wasn't long and before he knew it, he was in the Red Lake River by Fisher, Minnesota where he met a beaver who gave him a rudder so he could steer and stabilizers so he doesn’t tip upside down. While he was still in the Red Lake River, Star spotted a hungry hawk. The hawk swooped down towards Star as fast as a speeding bullet, but Mr. Hawk wasn't going for Star , he was going for a nice juicy Northern Pike. “Phew, that was close” thought Star. After the hawk, Star saw an eagle who swooped down and accidentally grabbed Star instead of the Northern Pike. “Uh Oh!!!” thought Star. Star was very panicked and very scared. He felt paralyzed. After about three hours, the eagle released Star because he realized Star was a tiny canoe and not the Northern Pike he intended to pick up. After the eagle dropped Star in Lake Winnipeg he almost got crushed by a cargo boat, but Star rowed away as fast as he could and the cargo boat missed Star by a centimeter. “Phew” thought Star. Star met a lot of bass and Common Carps. One Common Carp in the Nelson River started to lead Star to the Hudson Bay, but suddenly, Star was picked up by some people on a boat. They made it to the Hudson Bay and saw a polar bear. Star thought that was cool and the people ran for their lives but dropped Star in the Hudson Bay. Star had a long trip from Crookston the the Hudson Bay. It took nearly five years to get to the Hudson Bay. While he was drifting in the Hudson Bay, he started thinking about going across the Atlantic Ocean.
